About the Role:
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Ruby Engineer to join our Infrastructure team at Homebase. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and extending our Ruby service that manages our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Product and Data engineering teams to ensure they have the necessary tools and abstractions to build and run great software.
- Maintain and extend the Ruby service that manages our infrastructure.
- Work closely with product engineering teams to ensure that our tooling and practices are correctly optimized.
- Maintain tooling, pipelines, etc. that support product engineering teams.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience with deep knowledge of Ruby.
- 5+ years of experience on an Infrastructure/Platform team.
- 3+ years of experience working with a cloud provider such as AWS.
- Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform.
- Proficiency with relational databases such as Postgres.
- Experience with best practices in handling integrations with 3rd party vendors (error handling, API Interface development).
- Ability to compare technical approaches and share your findings with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Git, GitHub, and development using pull requests.
- Experience with Service Oriented Architectures.
- Ability to collaborate in the office weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
