This position will oversee the management of specific categories of direct material plastics as the primary commodity. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing robust supplier and purchasing strategies, collaborating with regional and global procurement teams, and negotiating contractual needs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement supplier and purchasing strategies for assigned categories across Dometic North American plants.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal customers on matters related to day-to-day supply, quality, part launches, engineering changes, product transfers, supplier resourcing, and capacity planning.
- Negotiate and achieve year-over-year cost reductions and best-in-class costs through various tools, including value analysis, cost modeling, and supplier negotiations.
- Manage suppliers, including the identification of new suppliers, qualification process, financial and business analysis, and core supplier review against Dometic's core processes, policies, and metrics.
- Interface with regional and global procurement teams for supplier evaluations, cost leverage, technology advancement, and supplier responsiveness.
- Select vendors that meet Dometic's quality, technology, and cost standards for new product development and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, or engineering; master's degree preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial and manufacturing environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and business case analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel and computer skills.
- High mobility, with 30% travel within the US to Dometic locations or suppliers.
- Desired commercial and technical knowledge of direct materials and indirect knowledge.
