We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at DEPCOM Power, a leading provider of Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), Operation and Maintenance (O&M), Repowering, and Energy Storage services for the U.S. utility solar and energy industries.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Support the development of structural steel supports, foundation systems, general arrangement diagrams, drainage plans, and detail drawings for solar infrastructure projects.
- Equipment Foundation Design: Lead and participate in the design of all the equipment foundation pads to support inverters, transformers, sectionalizing cabinets, and other electrical equipment.
- Geotechnical Engineering: Review existing project Geotechnical Engineering reports and ensure site-specific loading of all proposed solar sites are designed against AHJ local ordinance and ASCE loading requirements.
- Construction Support: Provide RFI construction support to all solar projects in parallel and manage consultants.
- Procurement and Engineering: Work with Procurement to generate equipment technical specifications and material requisitions to ensure equipment meets prime contracts' requirements & engineering standards.
- Structural Engineering: Develop Structural Engineering scopes of work based on the conditions specific to each state or AHJ standards.
- Contractual Reviews: Participate in contractual exhibit reviews.
- Post-Mapping Deliverables: Coordinate post-mapping deliverables with outside consultants for all projects for post-installation.
- Procedure Development: Assist with developing procedures, processes, and standards related to Structural Engineering.
- Engineering Oversight: Oversee engineering activities and deliverables during varying stages of design and construction on multiple sites across the country simultaneously.
- Discipline Cross-Checks: Participate in discipline cross-checks.
- Education: Bachelor or higher degree in civil engineering or equivalent with professional registration (Cedula Profesional - SEP) in Mexico.
- Specialization: Specialization in geotechnics, including soil mechanics analysis.
- Experience: Experience designing for infrastructure projects.
- Design Experience: Proficiency in structural design experience for infrastructure projects, including static and dynamic design.
- Land Development: Experience in land development.
- Civil Design: Proficiency in civil technical drawing & design.
- Civil Design Software: Competent use of civil design software including AutoCAD, CADWorxs, or similar, etc.
- Engineering Principles: Knowledge of engineering principles for analysis and design.
- International Codes: Familiarized with international codes such as ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.
- Travel and Visa: Ability to travel to US during short periods (Valid passport and visa).
- Driving License: Valid driving license.
- Language: Fluent in English oral and written communication.
- Electrical Power Systems: Strong experience participating in electrical power systems or solar projects.
- Hydrologic Analysis: Experience in hydrologic analysis.
- HDD Design Review: HDD design review, including the use of cavity expansion model.
- Proven Experience: Proven experience of accomplishment with minimal supervision.
- Construction and Engineering Issues: Demonstrated ability to resolve construction and engineering issues.
- RISAConnection and RISAFoundation: Competent use of RISAConnection and RISAFoundation.
- PE Engineer Registration: PE Engineer registration (Canada or US).
