Operations Handler

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operations Handler to join our team at FedEx. As an Operations Handler, you will be responsible for handling packages within our operations, including manual handling, sort activities, screening, and completing any related administration or paperwork.

1. Package Delivery and Pickup: Provide efficient and safe delivery and pickup of packages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to our customers.
2. Package Inspection: Inspect packages to ensure proper labeling, legality of content, including weight and size, proper wrapping, insurance values, and special requirements for hazardous material shipments.
3. Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary paperwork relating to the pickup and delivery of packages, such as airway bills, delivery records, vehicle condition, etc., with neatness and accuracy.
4. Customer Service: Seek additional business from current customers and inform Station Ops. Manager and Sales of changes in customer/competitor efforts.
5. Vehicle Operations: Load and unload company aircraft and vehicles in a safe manner, ensuring compliance with FedEx safety policies and procedures.
6. Warehouse Operations: Audit size and weight of packages and boxes, sort, and ensure the use of safety equipment.
7. Vehicle Maintenance: Operate company vehicles in a safe and secure manner, perform basic maintenance, and ensure vehicles are clean, washed, and properly maintained.
8. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Education: Middle School degree or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Experience operating ramp and warehouse equipment preferred.
• Skills: Ability to lift 70 lbs and to maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment, basic English skills, and ability to work variable shifts.
• Certifications: Must be able to successfully complete Reading, Map Reading, Sorting, and Math sections of the Basic Skills Test.
