Job Title: Senior Process Engineer

The Senior Process Engineer will provide subject matter expertise in engineering to improve product, process, and/or equipment performance, and advance the innovation process to enable the delivery of new products. This role will involve providing solutions for increased process selectivity, material utilization, cost reduction, and product quality improvement by planning, organizing, and implementing projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with experience in process improvement, manufacturing, and technical leadership. They will be able to design and analyze first-generation and next-generation products, processes, and/or equipment in support of new product/technology introductions. Additionally, they will maintain knowledge of the latest developments in their area of expertise to identify and document intellectual property developed as part of a project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in problem-solving and technical expertise to ensure timely resolution of short-term process and equipment issues and higher-level troubleshooting.
  • Provide direction to other technicians/engineers, coach junior engineers, and provide guidance to maintenance personnel.
  • Develop and lead projects to get to the root cause of issues and implement permanent solutions.
  • Recommend and implement permanent solutions to long-term performance issues and improve existing and new technologies and processes.
  • Develop and lead areas of the manufacturing and/or technical roadmap.
  • Document material, process, and/or equipment to protect and contribute to intellectual property improvements.
  • Identify, justify, and implement cost reduction, capacity enhancement, capital equipment, and other improvement initiatives.
  • Introduce new products and technologies.
  • Meet all Environmental, Safety, and Health requirements.
  • Develop SME knowledge of material, process, and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.
  • Track the effectiveness of projects and implemented cost reductions using up-time, cost, productivity, and other appropriate measures.
  • Be a leader and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in process control/discipline, SPC, SQC, OEE, Designed Experiments, and other Performance Excellence processes.
  • Design and/or specify new equipment or modify existing equipment to continuously improve process performance. Coordinate installation, debugging, and initial operation of new equipment and systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in a technical field.
  • Yellow Belt Training.
  • Lean Fundamentals.
  • Track record of delivering results.
  • Broad manufacturing and engineering experiences.
  • Project leadership (scope to implementation).
  • Coaching and developing junior engineers/technicians.
  • Manufacturing Workshops (MPIW or equivalent).
Desired:
  • Bachelor of Science (Engineering) or Master of Science (Engineering or Applied Science).
  • Green Belt certification.
  • Black belt (6 Sigma or Innovation) training.
  • Project and/or manufacturing financial management knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Innovation Stage-gate processes.
