Cost Estimator For Automotive Projects

Job Summary:
This role involves a high level of independent judgment, initiative, and creativity in managing multiple estimates to identify accurate cost estimates and proposed cost reductions. The cost engineer will have exposure to the next generation of automotive vehicles while working with leading-edge automotive experts and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes is required, including an understanding of regional differences in manufacturing processes and assumptions.
- Collaborate with the internal purchasing team to provide fair and competitive component costs for General Motors.
- Occasional domestic travel to supplier facilities for enhanced costing collaboration and support of the engineering and purchasing team.
- Support the assigned SMT from a tooling and piece price perspective.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar field.
