About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Harman International. As a key member of our EH&S department, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the detection of risks and behaviors of employees, directing staff to adopt good safety practices, and timely detection of high-risk operations to guarantee a safe work environment.
- Provide support to comply with EH&S legal requirements.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and reasons that generate accidents and incidents.
- Authorize and monitor risk jobs performed by employees and contractors, ensuring compliance with safe work practices.
- Detect unsafe acts and conditions to control situations where an accident may occur.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and motives that generate accidents and incidents, and mitigate them through problem-solving and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in safety brigades and EHSS committees.
- Support the inventory of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Control direct chemicals.
- Participate in and provide support for quality and EHSS systems management.
- Implement projects for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Professional degree or technical career.
- 2-3 years of related experience.
- Experience in the automotive industry, preferably.
- Knowledge of government obligations regarding industrial safety, health, and environmental laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety operations.
- Experience in managing work groups.
- Computer knowledge (Office).
Preferred Qualifications
- Communication skills (oral and written).
- Problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
