HSBC Mexico is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Crime Prevention Specialist to join our team. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the effective implementation and continuous operation of our Crime Prevention Model (CPM).

About the Role

The Corporate Crime Prevention Specialist will lead efforts to support the establishment of robust controls and processes aimed at preventing criminal activities within the organization, thereby mitigating risk associated with non-compliance and enhancing HSBC Mexico's overall legal and ethical standing.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide expert support and guidance in the event of criminal litigation or potential corporate liabilities, overseeing the management of legal proceedings and liaising with external legal experts to defend the bank's interests effectively.
  • Stay ahead of the curve in terms of legal compliance and risk management, continuously monitoring changes in criminal laws and regulations, and proactively propose adjustments to our internal controls and processes to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risk.
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive training programs aimed at educating employees on their roles and responsibilities in adhering to the CPM, thereby reducing the likelihood of non-compliance and enhancing our organization resilience.
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate, collaborating closely with various internal departments, external legal counsel, and regulatory bodies to ensure consistency in crime prevention strategies and messaging.

Requirements

  • Education background: University degree in law.
  • Professional experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in federal and state-level legal compliance and criminal litigation with the Mexican financial sector.
  • Legal expertise: Profound understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to legal compliance, financial crimes, and corporate criminal liability.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
