Job SummaryWe are seeking an Automation Mechanical Design Engineer to join our extraordinary team in Guadalajara, North Campus. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining, developing, implementing, and proliferating automation projects, providing consultancy as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and developing new customer engagement in the region with a focus on technical support.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret mechanical drawings from customer product designs to meet all specifications requirements.
- Create and define RFQ/SOW documents to quote with suppliers for new integrations.
- Design automation solutions in the mechanical area.
- Ensure mechanical design can be manufactured.
- Review and approve mechanical design drawings, validate deliverables to be quoted.
- Simulate mechanical design to provide visualization and calculate line improvements from implementing solutions (CT, UPH, etc).
- Identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process to define the best technology.
- Participate in daily production activities and effective problem-solving on daily issues.
- Provide technical support for the implementation or development of any technology.
- Work on the maturity of the technologies currently deployed.
- Take responsibility for the development or implementation of a project.
- Train local teams on technologies.
- Quote and follow up implementations on mechanical technical areas.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to meet timelines.
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
- Automation Mechanical Design (DFAA - Design for Automation, EoAT, Stack up of tolerances).
- Management of design SW tools such as: SW, NX, CAD.
- Management of PM tool such as: Microsoft Project, Smartsheet.
- Experience and knowledge in mechanical tolerances for equipment design.
- Knowledge in pneumatic and electrical diagrams reading.
- Knowledge in pneumatic component selection.
- Basic knowledge in Robots, vision, and control components for mechanical design.
- Experience with suppliers for automation integration solutions.
- Knowledge in mechanical design to be fabricated by mechanical systems (e.g).
