Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing construction plans, breaking them down into electrical sub-packages, and preparing accurate cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze construction plans to identify electrical sub-packages and prepare cost estimates
• Source design data from databases and/or existing designs to ensure project accuracy and compliance with local regulations
• Collate material prices and lists of suppliers and rates to develop comprehensive project estimates
• Review and understand narratives, plans, and specifications to ensure alignment between pricing and the scope of work
• Break down plans into various electrical sub-packages and calculate the cost of electrical construction
• Analyze projects for value engineering options while considering specific job conditions that may affect labor and materials
• Develop conceptual estimates based on limited information at all phases of the project design progression
• Participate in the development and reviewing of design alternatives, cost options, and value engineering
• Manage unit and development cost estimations and help determine affordable and reliable material sources
• Execute system design calculations to ascertain equipment specifications
• Periodically review and update materials and cost databases to ensure they reflect changing material or labor costs
• Update pricing based on customer selections and complete billing preparation
• Request material and equipment quotes from vendors while maintaining a positive relationship with them
• Develop and manage the electrical pricing bid strategy, breakouts, and work packages
• Explain electrical pricing and costs to clients and engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with construction materials and their associated costs
• Highly detail-oriented and well-organized
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
