Job Summary

Catenon is seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer - Assembly Process to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective production of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to the Assembly manufacturing processes at our Sanimex Faucet Operation (SFO) facility.
  2. Process Improvement: Develop and implement procedures and processes to maintain cost-effective manufacturing assembly processes, ensuring high-quality products.
  3. Capital Projects: Direct major capital projects and equipment purchases for capacity and strategic purposes at SFO.
  4. Global Growth: Support corporate activities related to the international growth of our Global Faucets Operations.
Specific Responsibilities
  1. Process Direction: Direct the flow of material and operation of all equipment associated with the Assembly Process.
  2. Problem-Solving: Detect and diagnose equipment and process problems, understanding previous and subsequent operations as necessary.
  3. Process Documentation: Develop detailed process specifications and SAP routings for manufacturing, as well as necessary process documentation (PFMEA, Control Plan, Flow Chart).
  4. Training and Development: Provide training to production teams on process documentation and quality tools.
  5. Quality Assurance: Assist Quality and production teams in troubleshooting production problems and resolving quality problems related to equipment or process capability.
  6. Cost Estimation: Assist in providing cost estimates to the New Product Manufacturing Engineering group.
  7. Design Review: Assist in reviewing new product or process designs to ensure manufacturability and production at the lowest possible cost.
  8. Supplier Management: Work with the Kohler supplier network within or outside the USA.
  9. New Product Development: Support New Product Development group in launching new products by providing technical assessment of potential problems and designing toolings.
  10. Safety Initiatives: Participate in safety initiatives such as wall-to-wall inspections, Kaizen events, safety teams, and allocate funds for safety equipment and initiatives.
Relationships and Contacts
  1. Supervisory Relationships: Reports to the Plant Engineering Manager.
Organizational Relationships
  1. Frequent Contact: Frequent contact with Production Supervision, Production Engineering staff, Manufacturing Planning staff, New Product Manufacturing Engineering staff, Quality Control/Assurance, Test Lab and C&M Lab personnel, Procurement Group, and Global Faucet Engineering.
External Business Relationships
  1. Frequent Contact: Frequent contact with equipment and chemical vendors, component suppliers worldwide.
Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree (ABET) with a minimum of 5 years in applicable Manufacturing or Assembly operations experience. A background in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Experience in Geometric Dimensioning.
