Job Summary

Specright, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test to join our QA team. As an SDET, you will have the opportunity to design and implement robust testing frameworks, ensure the quality and reliability of our software through meticulous testing and bug finding, and collaborate with other technical team members to identify and resolve issues.

Our cloud-based software (SaaS) for specification data management serves Enterprise and Mid-Market level companies with complex needs. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring our software meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Identify, document, and track bugs through resolution.
  • Interpret and report testing results and advocate for quality in every phase of the development process.
  • Communicate testing progress and timelines to internal and external stakeholders through testing reports and metrics.
  • Articulate risks, defects, and status to relevant audiences.
  • Collaborate with teams and individuals to ensure timely delivery of assigned projects.
  • Monitor and improve continuous quality and process within a defined context.
  • Design and write test scenarios and test cases; update test cases based on requirement specifications.
  • Review unit test cases with the development team.
  • Classify and analyze bugs using defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, Mantis.
  • Write and execute test scripts using automation tools such as Selenium.
  • Develop and test new and existing products to support technology operations while maintaining exemplary standards.
  • Work with product and development teams to understand requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and business analysis teams to identify risks and provide solutions.
  • Develop test scripts for performance testing (program logic and verify system flow).
  • Contribute to all layers of the test automation pipeline while applying development best practices.
  • Assist in scheduling and communicating the deployment of tests to relevant parties.
Qualifications
  • Software engineering demonstrated with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work/project experience.
  • Testing: unit test, load test, and regression testing (5+ Years).
  • Moderate knowledge of at least one programming language and its fundamentals.
  • Basic knowledge of what an API is.
  • Expert/advanced knowledge of testing methods and practices (5+ Years), bug reporting practices and tools, and API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, etc.

    • Design testing procedures, tools, and scripts.

    • Manage time across projects and tasks in development or testing.

    • Stay updated with and understand the latest technologies and practices in software development and testing.

    • Sit and/or stand at a desk for an extended period.
    • Use a computer screen for an extended period.
    • Engage in repetitive hand motor movements to operate computer equipment (e.g., mouse, keyboard).
