Job Title: Land Mobile Radio Technician
Job Summary:
The Land Mobile Radio Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing electronics such as radios, communications switches, Land Mobile Radios, towers, repeaters, and antennas. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft computer operating systems and Microsoft Office software, and the ability to lift at least forty (40) pounds and assist in lifting up to one hundred (100) pounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation and adjustments of communication systems.
- Inspect radio communications activities, troubleshoot issues, and determine equipment operational status within the LMR Network.
- Test, align, and adjust equipment; replace and repair faulty components, and requisition materials as needed.
- Maintain equipment maintenance records, authorized spare parts, supply stock, tool lists, and technical manuals; Establish maintenance requirements for support equipment, tools, and spare parts needed to support repair effort.
- Provide technical guidance to subordinate personnel.
- Perform comparison checks on repaired equipment in accordance with test standards.
- Consult layout drawings to ensure equipment is properly positioned.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and/or Information Technology may be substituted for three (3) of the years of experience.
- An Associate's degree in Computer Science and/or Information Technology may be substituted for two (2) of the years of experience.
- Radio communications operation, repair, and/or repair experience in military specialty field will also be considered.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift at least forty (40) pounds and assist in lifting up to one hundred (100) pounds.
- Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
