PRIMARY ROLE

Under the guidance of the General Supervisor for Kilns & Spray, Plant II, this role is tasked with delivering engineering support to manufacturing sectors, pinpointing and enhancing areas of potential in production workflows or products.

Additionally, the role involves the creation and upkeep of project-engineering initiatives aligned with robust engineering standards, KOS principles, and corporate policies, ensuring the facility operates seamlessly while achieving its production and cost targets.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide engineering support for daily production, quality assurance, troubleshooting, cost management, and adherence to delivery timelines.
2.

Supervise production workflows and recommend modifications in operational methods or sequences to ensure optimal performance and enhance efficiency.

3. Collaborate with the maintenance team to sustain and troubleshoot the manufacturing processes, tools, and dies.
4. Establish and maintain control over labor standards in intricate operations.
5. Assist in training team members as necessary and offer technical direction to junior engineers.
6. Monitor and track various metrics within the Plant.
7. Aid in the execution of the Kohler Operating System (KOS)
8. Foster continuous enhancements in safety, quality, and cost within Plant operations.
9.

Develop quality initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing methodologies to achieve cost savings and improve outcomes in respective areas.

10.

Encourage teamwork to ensure adherence to established procedures post-implementation of projects.

11. Adhere to the Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities designated for this position.

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Supervisory Relationships:
1. Report to the General Supervisor for Kilns & Spray, Plant II.

Organizational Relationships:
1. Regular interaction with Quality and Production departments and Foremen.
2. Moderate interaction with factory personnel.
3. Frequent engagement with General Supervisors.
4. Collaborate with Support areas such as Excellence Team and Vitreous Support teams.

External Business Relationships:
1. Moderate interaction with tooling and machinery suppliers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:
Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:
Preferred minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing lean systems.
