Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Compliance Specialist to join our team at Infineon Technologies in Mexico. As a key member of our international trade team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations and laws.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in international trade, logistics, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in customs compliance. You will be familiar with Mexican customs regulations, including Annex 24 and Annex 31, as well as OEA, AGARO, PROSEC, and Regla 8va. Experience with US customs compliance, including knowledge of CBP 7501, CBP 3461, CBP 214, and CBP 7512, is also an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Familiarity with company internal and external policies and procedures;
  • Acting as a contact partner for IFAM Customs staff members;
  • Handling or notifying IFAM Customs for post-entry adjustments and providing supporting data;
  • Working with the Customs department for discrepancies control and corrective action implementation;
  • Informing IFAM Customs about changes in daily business or other relevant news;
  • Gathering necessary information for new NOSTAS part number creation and following up with the IFAM Customs team;
  • Assisting with publication and implementation of work instructions for customs;
  • Helping train and inform staff on customs issues;
  • Ensuring 3PL SOPs are followed, quarterly performance reviews, and corrective actions;
  • Providing clearance instructions to US brokers by supplying shipment information;
  • Replying to IFSSC team inquiries about entries, invoices, etc., and following up when corrections are needed;
  • Helping ensure export shipments/documents meet all necessary customs requirements by approving Non-Standard Shipments (NOSTAS) for Tijuana and Guadalajara sites;
  • Ensuring compliance with customs certifications, including C-TPAT, OEA, AGARO, and others;
  • Recordkeeping, responsible for the integrity of import-export transaction files and adherence to IFX A.11 retention periods;
  • Mexico Customs Intranet updates/maintenance and publications;
  • Raising awareness of customs compliance within the branch office;
  • Participating in projects related to customs topics.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Professional experience in international trade or a related field (preferable), business administration, logistics, engineering, quality, or equivalent to 5 years of experience in a related position;
  • Knowledge of Mexico customs compliance, including Annex 24 and Annex 31, OEA, AGARO, PROSEC, and Regla 8va;
  • Experience with U.S. customs compliance, including knowledge of CBP 7501, CBP 3461, CBP 214, and CBP 7512;
  • Incoterms;
  • Knowledge of classifying commodities;
  • Knowledge of company-specific processes, procedures, and logistics;
  • Knowledge of major relevant IT systems (for logistics and order processing), such as SAP;
  • Knowledge of the company's product range;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Detail-oriented;
  • Ability to think analytically;
  • Willingness and inclination to learn about relevant regulations and keep knowledge up to date;
  • Organizational skills.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
