1. Supplier Management
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and adequate capacity.
- Provide training and communication to guarantee uniform application of standards.
- Oversee critical projects related to supplier engagement.
- Offer constructive feedback to suppliers and the purchasing department.
- Maintain an approved supplier matrix.
- Implement a disciplined supplier management process.
2. Standards Development and Implementation
- Create new standards and specifications as required.
- Regularly update existing standards based on insights gained from continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and train teams on adherence to established standards.
- Ensure all standards are well-documented and easily accessible to users.
3. Project Execution
- Guide teams through the specification development process using standardized templates.
- Evaluate quotes and proposals from vendors.
- Facilitate the selection of vendors with a focus on their capabilities and capacity.
- Participate in design reviews and coordination meetings.
- Provide installation and troubleshooting assistance as necessary.
- Drive improvements in Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) through equipment design.
- Gather data on standard equipment and develop a roadmap for enhancements.
- Create standard contingency plans for essential equipment.
- Establish standard preventive maintenance schedules for core equipment.
- Design systems for straightforward troubleshooting and recovery.
- Integrate condition monitoring and predictive technologies where feasible.
4. Technology Application
- Identify technologies that can enhance current performance or boost automation.
- Evaluate new technological advancements.
- Lead or support pilot projects to test new technologies.
- Define industrialization standards for emerging technologies.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Focus on cost reduction strategies.
- Simplify processes to enhance ease of ownership for plant teams.
