Job Summary:

This position requires advanced knowledge of customs entry procedures and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience classifying goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS) and participating in government agency clearances (PGA), Code of Regulations, and Customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare customs entries and forward freight to designated locations, including interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers.
  • Communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and supervisors.
  • Coordinate freight delivery to designated locations.
  • Resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues.
  • Scan entries into the imaging system, meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements.
  • Prepare reports and presentations using various software packages and databases.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working for a Customs Broker.
  • Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations, and other government departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Customs Broker License - Preferred.
  • Accurate and rapid data entry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Schedule:

This position requires a weekend work schedule on a department rotation basis and holiday schedule based on the needs of the operation and account requirements.
