About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineering Lead to join our team at VASS MEXICO. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our platform engineering efforts, ensuring the quality and reliability of our monitoring and telemetry systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Platform Engineering: Set priorities, ensure progress toward goals, and drive the development of our monitoring and telemetry platforms.
  • Expertise in Monitoring/Telemetry/Observability: Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our monitoring and telemetry systems.
  • Platform Quality: Ensure the quality and reliability of our monitoring and telemetry platforms through consistent development, testing, and documentation.
  • Platform Outcomes: Oversee platform outcomes, focusing on continuous improvement and alignment with business goals.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the success of our platform engineering efforts.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor contracts and relationships to ensure the best possible outcomes for our organization.
  • Level 3 Support: Provide Level 3 support for our monitoring and telemetry systems, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Platform Governance: Establish governance structures and best practices for our platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Management Information Systems from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience with Agile methods and methodologies, and leading SCRUM/Lean/Kanban teams. 10+ years of relevant professional experience as a technology engineer, with 7+ years in a role managing platform teams.
  • Technical Skills: 7+ years of experience enabling telemetry, monitoring, and observability environments using leading APM/AIOPS solutions (Splunk, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes, ServiceNow preferred). 3+ years of experience using public cloud infrastructure (AWS required, Azure desired).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of getting things done in complex organizations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Healthcare/life science/pharmaceutical industry experience required. Referenceable leadership, management, or key influencer experiences required.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work in an agile and rapid-changing environment with high-quality deliverables. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated presentation, communication, and influencing skills. Ability to think outside the box for innovative engineering capabilities.
