Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer to join our team at Te Connectivity. As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for working with the New Product Design team to ensure design for manufacturability and design for automation opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback to Product Engineering on design issues that limit quality, reliability, or keep cost targets from being met.
  • Provide technical support, engineering assistance, and guidance in manufacturing techniques, equipment design and operation, and the debugging of sophisticated mechanical and electrical and electronic systems.
  • Work to develop, improve, and implement safety controls in manufacturing.
  • Ability to proactively drive projects with minimal guidance or supervision.
  • Responsible for all aspects of tooling and process development: concept, quoting, purchasing, design reviews, build, conditioning, validation, approval and production release.
  • Design and complete capability studies / process and tooling validations to ensure capable processes.
  • Create and maintain process planning instruction sheets, routings, work instructions, PFMEA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 3 years of professional Automotive experience.
  • In-depth understanding of core processes (assembly, automation).
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-directed and highly motivated.
  • Able to evaluate product function and be able to make material recommendations to product engineering.
  • Working knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma principles a plus.
  • Driving systems changes such as SAP & hydra.
  • Must be proficient in English language.
  • IATF 16949.
