About the Opportunity

In this key position as IT Sourcing Strategy Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and excellence through strategic IT sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive category plans and sourcing strategies to deliver high-impact IT initiatives aligned with our company's overall strategy.
  • Lead the execution of key IT sourcing initiatives, ensuring delivery of best-in-class solutions within acceptable risk parameters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop the annual pipeline of IT sourcing initiatives, integrating with financial planning processes for optimal results.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate supplier contracts in line with Thomson Reuters' contracting standards and business objectives.
  • Rationalize our IT supplier base, reducing fragmentation and simplifying the spend landscape to drive commercial efficiency.
  • Provide coaching and support to Sourcing Managers within the Technology Sourcing team, fostering a culture of excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Represent Global Services in governance forums with strategic IT suppliers, ensuring contractual obligations are met, initiatives perform against business cases, and issues are resolved promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic IT suppliers, vendor management teams, and service delivery teams to achieve high levels of service quality while maintaining best-in-class commercial terms.
Deliverables and Performance Metrics:
  • Approved category plans and sourcing strategies.
  • Robust business cases developed for each IT sourcing initiative.
  • Comprehensive implementation plans (including deal governance and approval processes) for every IT sourcing initiative.
  • High-quality sourcing collateral developed at each stage of the sourcing lifecycle to facilitate informed decision-making among stakeholders.
  • Significant reduction in third-party risks through active risk management for each IT sourcing initiative.
  • Sustained annual cost savings demonstrated using a robust savings methodology consistently applied and rigorously approved.
About You

You're an ideal candidate for the IT Sourcing Strategy Lead role if you possess:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of general sourcing experience.
  • Proven expertise in developing and negotiating IT sourcing agreements worth up to $25 million or more.
  • A track record of delivering significant and sustainable cost reductions through effective IT sourcing strategies.
  • Deep understanding of contract terms and contractual language, along with drafting and redlining skills.
  • Strong relationship management and leadership skills, both internally and externally.
  • Experience in leading negotiations with major global ADM and outsourcing partners, as well as other key technology suppliers.
  • Knowledge of the sourcing marketplace and industry trends, including assessing impact on the sourcing strategy.
  • Expert analytics and ability to create coherent, high-quality sourcing collateral, such as business cases, contract summaries, and RFx materials.
  • Experience in building strong relationships with senior IT and business executives.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
