Financial Controller for Logistics Operations

Universal Logistics Holdings, a leader in the transportation and logistics industry, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations in Monterrey, Mexico. This individual will play a crucial role in driving business growth, ensuring financial stability, and implementing efficient financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing a team of local analysts, including indexing and invoicing. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of three local analysts
  • Management of accounting and financial systems
  • Management of internal controls over cash and inventory
  • General ledger accounting, consolidation, detailed account analysis, and preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Invoicing control
  • Accounts Receivable control
  • Accounts Payable control
  • Payroll (including IMSS, Infonavit, local and state taxes, and reimbursements)

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years public/private accounting experience
  • CPA certification (or equivalent)
  • Experience with General Ledger, consolidation, and Cost Accounting
  • Demonstrated experience in period-end closing procedures, including preparation of financial statements
  • Tax, accounting, and audit experience in both Mexico and the United States
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, rapid change environment where priorities change regularly
