This role is part of our global logistics team, supporting US and Mexico plants with data gathering for imports and exports. The successful candidate will have experience in USA and Mexico Customs operations, effective communication, and data gathering skills.
The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have a solid understanding of customs regulations.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Verifying correct HTS classification is used by custom brokers.
- Ensuring material descriptions for imports are complete and accurate.
- Checking shipment value to SAP PO value matches.
- Providing backup documents and information to sites and users.
- Helping logistics coordinators clear urgent shipments.
- Gathering information on raw materials and finished goods to obtain an HTS classification.
- Looking for PO or PN to obtain correct information for clearance purposes.
- Verifying terms of sale (Inco term) used on each request shipment information.
- Verifying country of origin on commercial invoices is correct.
- Ensuring all required information is correct and matches company requirements (Bill to address, Ship to address, PO, PN, unit value, total value).
- Coordinating hand carries and charters operation.
