About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer position is a critical role within Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions. The selected individual will play a key part in the following areas of product development:

  • Supporting the development of HVAC package equipment
  • Ensuring product requirement compliance and agency certification
  • Conducting qualification plans for refrigeration systems and components

The successful candidate will actively participate in the New Product Development process, applying state-of-the-art design and simulation tools to document and optimize refrigeration and fluid in HVAC systems. They will review designs for compliance with product agency regulations and verification plans.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Leading a sub-project of new product development programs or smaller scope new product development programs
  • Developing and coordinating engineering documents and releases
  • Providing reliability analysis of components and systems
  • Identifying reliable and cost-effective purchased components required for new product development projects
  • Executing tests and qualifications for systems, sub-systems, and components, reviewing test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modifying or adjusting equipment to meet specifications
Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of experience in HVAC applications or refrigeration-based products
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication and assembly methods
  • Demonstrated system design thinking skills and creative new product design skills
  • Working knowledge of industry test and safety standards
  • Advanced English language proficiency
Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience or familiarity with various HVAC applications
  • Hands-on experience working in an engineering design environment
  • Knowledge of UL/ANSI/AHRI standards
  • Technical knowledge of refrigeration design, heat transfer, fan systems, structural analysis, and electronic control systems
  • Experience in continual process improvement
