About the Role
The Body Exterior Vision Component Engineer will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and validation of wipers systems components, including wiper modules, washer bottles, hoses, and nozzles. This will involve analyzing the design to ensure it meets requirements and working with the extended vehicle team for production implementation and competitive benchmarking.
The successful candidate will execute component standardization and reuse, develop Design Verification Plans, and maintain functional objectives, DFMEAs, and standards. They will also support meetings throughout NA work hours and work closely with local engineering teams, Architecture/Vehicle Concepts, program science teams, and PDO to align with all packaging, functional objectives, and system requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills, and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Proficient in MS-Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in body exterior systems and wipers systems.
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
- Knowledgeable in NX and TC release experience.
- Body systems in-plant launch experience.
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) green / black-belt.
- Shainin/ Kepner-Tregoe reactive problem solving.
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
