About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled WHS Specialist to join our team at Servicios Comerciales Amazon Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V. as a designated safety representative for our sort center.

Job Overview

The WHS Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and implementing all areas of the Amazon Global Safety Program, promoting a positive safety culture while complying with Amazon safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and inform management of compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities through daily, weekly, and monthly audits.
  • Facilitate incident investigation process.
  • Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and regulations.
  • Enter Incident Information in internal database in a timely manner.
  • Perform observations & audits.
  • Train and assist others (Area Managers, team members, etc.) to complete their responsibilities (Audits, Follow Rules, etc.).
  • Perform specific training as required by the Manager.
  • May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other related activities depending on the business unit and location.
  • Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate health and needs to all levels of the organization.
  • Calm demeanor in emergency situations.
  • Available to work flexible shifts including days, nights and/or weekends.
  • Available to travel twice a month minimum.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Engineering or Science Bachelor's degree completed.
  • 1+ years of workplace health & safety (WHS) related field experience.
  • English intermediate level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Engineering Bachelor's degree, preferably in a safety related field.
  • Experience in emergency response.
  • Experience in worker's compensation case management.

Salary and Benefits

We offer an estimated salary of $35,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits such as medical insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
