At Ficosa, we're committed to delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business unit clients. As a Senior Product Development Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the optimal use of standardized solutions across all development processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Product Engineering Master to assess the technical feasibility of products during the offer and development stages, adhering to the Ficosa Development System (FDS) methodology.
- Lead design reviews under the supervision of the Master in Design and effectively manage product modifications throughout all stages.
- Deliver prototypes and products in accordance with defined plans, working closely with clients.
- Participate in product and process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Work with the Quality Design Engineer to analyze technical test reports and implement necessary countermeasures.
- Develop and propose Technical Lessons Learned during the industrialization phase, collaborating with manufacturing teams.
- Contribute to the competitiveness of the business unit by improving costs, quality, and product performance, adopting new technical solutions and providing support to assembly plants.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing department and suppliers to optimize components in terms of cost, quality, and manufacturability.
- Ensure the development of CAD (3D & 2D) designs.
- Engage with client engineering for effective product development.
- Participate in patent generation, following Engineering Master and Intellectual Property guidelines.
- Adhere to Ficosa's Code of Ethics and Information Security Management System (ISMS) applicable to the role.
- Lead the team, ensuring its effectiveness, development, and motivation, promoting Ficosa's values.
- Provide the team with necessary resources to comply with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE) rules.
- Actively contribute to maintaining, promoting, and improving the OHSE and Quality department.
Requirements
- Academic background: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Languages: Fluent English (spoken and written).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar position.
Additional Specifications
- Additional training: Knowledge in R&D Tools (FDS, Problem Solving, FMEA, GDT, DOE, etc) would be beneficial.
- Additional languages: Proficiency in other languages, depending on the business/project requirements, would be advantageous.
