About the Role
RHI Magnesita is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Professional to join our team in Mexico. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving best practices in our health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the site in driving best practices in health and safety programs and procedures
- Work closely with plant teams to eliminate occupational health and safety risks through the development of proactive programs
- Lead site projects and initiatives to improve health and safety performance
- Provide on-site support for incident management and reporting
- Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Monitor and ensure legal compliance, identifying gaps and developing appropriate policies
- Partner with local sites to eliminate potential opportunities
- Align with global and regional resources to utilize outside expertise and new pilot programs
- Ensure EHS regulatory schedule is followed in the plant
- Provide training and technical advice on safety and environmental protection
- Educate and help continue to develop H&S knowledge within the manufacturing plant
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years' experience in a safety and health role
- Education/training in occupational safety, environmental, or relevant safety certification
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required
- Knowledge of worker's compensation
- Experience and practice of safety methodology or safety process knowledge
- Experience facilitating critical conversations to develop win/win solutions in high-stress, fast-paced, and complex structures
- Professional designation (CSP, ASP, GSP, CIH) is preferred
- Knowledge in SAP is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
