About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at John Bean Technologies Corporation. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing our heavy industrial equipment, including juice extractors, filling machines, high-pressure processors, sterilizers, tanks, and vessels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic and advanced training to clients on equipment operation and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems, making appropriate repairs or recommendations for repairs
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment, including inspections and small repairs
  • Provide advisory services during equipment installation, service, and repair visits
  • Coordinate contractor work at customer sites
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, electrical and mechanical CAD drawings, P&IDs, and flow schemes
  • Accurately prepare and submit inspection reports, service reports, time sheets, and expense reports
  • Inspect assembled equipment to ensure proper installation and inspect operating parts to ensure proper operation
  • Maintain inspection records of equipment and recommend equipment modifications to eliminate future performance problems
  • Advises clients on replacement part orders and clearly and professionally interacts with customers regarding status of commissioning
  • Troubleshoot problems that occur at customer sites during installation and commissioning
Requirements:
  • Advanced electrical and mechanical skills, minimum 5 years of experience
  • 2-year degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering, or technical degree
  • Proficient personal computer skills, including email, recordkeeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, 80% or more
  • Driver's license
  • Five or more years of experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of processing, filling, or similar equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Automation experience
  • Aseptics experience
  • Experience in PLC troubleshooting with Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.
