Charger Logistics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Manager to join our team. As a Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our truck repair shop, ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is completed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Task Management: Set daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to follow up on each breakdown and track resolution time frames.
- Customer Service: Answer calls from drivers who have a maintenance issue with their equipment.
- Service Coordination: Coordinate and schedule service (including vendors) and give an accurate start and completion time to the customer.
- Warranty Claims: Identify warrantable repairs and file claims with the appropriate vendor(s) or manufacturer(s) as needed.
- Vendor Management: Locate the appropriate vendor closest to the breakdown (search database and websites for repair facility) to ensure minimum wait time and quality repairs to minimize cost.
- Communication: Communicate with Dispatch and Maintenance Departments, relaying maintenance information and timeline for resolutions and track resolution time frames, making outbound calls to dispatch appropriate service to drivers/owner operators.
- Shop Management: Maintain contact with vendor(s) during repair to ensure specific requirements are being met and coordinate payment methods to vendors.
- Expense Management: Manage shop area, warehouse, repair costs, and equipment downtime to ensure work orders are being completed efficiently.
- Expense Reporting: Review expense reports from mechanics and forward them to the Maintenance department for approval.
- Work Order Management: Review all open service work orders in the system and ensure all the costs have been accounted for.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality inspections of equipment to ensure all government rules and regulations are adhered to and all required paperwork is completed.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience managing a truck repair shop with in-depth mechanical knowledge.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, with intermediate abilities in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of Ministry regulations, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and shop management practices.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
