As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Foxconn, you will play a critical role in enhancing our engineering capabilities and providing superior solutions to our customers. Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed mechanical designs for individual stations and complete automation lines using SOLIDWORKS and other relevant software.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into larger systems.

  • Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for each design, ensuring all necessary components are accounted for and sourced appropriately.

  • Conduct thorough design reviews to validate functionality, manufacturability, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

  • Take ownership of the design process, from conceptualization to prototyping and testing, making necessary iterations to optimize performance and efficiency.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.

  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to select appropriate materials and components, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality of final products.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating new methodologies and best practices into design processes to enhance efficiency and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in (mention relevant industry, e.g., EV, ICT, manufacturing, automation,, etc.).

  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SOLIDWORKS, with a strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Demonstrated experience in creating detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) for mechanical designs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Proven track record of designing individual stations and automation lines from scratch, with a strong focus on functionality, efficiency, and manufacturability.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results within tight deadlines.
