Job Title: Aggregate Operations Manager


Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly experienced Aggregate Operations Manager to join our team at CEMEX. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating aggregates and mining knowledge sharing throughout our expert networks to improve cost efficiency and ensure technology availability for production, maintenance, and quality.


Main Responsibilities:



  1. Establish, analyze, and supervise policies, procedures, and metrics to ensure the competitiveness of aggregates and raw materials operative assets and reserves throughout their complete lifecycle.
  2. Organize and coordinate the necessary expertise networks related to production, maintenance, and quality control for quarries to facilitate the swift movement of relevant knowledge across the company.
  3. Analyze and coordinate the quarries' operations needs, including human resources, development programs, safety training, equipment, and software, to conduct company-wide actions to solve them.
  4. Establish and coordinate global policies and guidelines aimed at ensuring reserves planning, exploration, exploitation, and site reclamation, complying with all legal requirements.
  5. Direct technology evaluation efforts in the company for mining and aggregates processing to establish acceptable technologies and suppliers.
  6. Formulate technology investment plans to be proposed to Operations for their 3-year plans.
  7. Develop and coordinate global initiatives to support Operations in enhancing efficiency, maintenance availability, quality, and management.
  8. Define and analyze metrics of production, maintenance, and quality technology, and selection of technology for CAPEX above US $1.0 million.
  9. Approve technology selection for aggregates-related CAPEX between US $1.0 and 15.0 million.
  10. Define and analyze metrics of initiatives' potential for launching them CEMEX worldwide.
  11. Conduct periodical audits of aggregate and raw materials quarries from a technical, environmental, and legal perspective.

Position Challenges:



  1. Develop and coordinate a global network from scratch for a business that perceives itself as local.
  2. Establish an acknowledged contact point for all aggregates and mining business units in the company.
  3. Achieve peers' recognition as an expert in geology, mining, and aggregates processing.
  4. Multicultural environment and different local construction culture makes it harder to develop a global approach.

Qualifications:



  1. Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Geology, Mining, Engineering, or Administration.
  2. Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JDE/SAP.
  3. Proficient Spanish and English language.
  4. Experience of 8-10 years in Quarry Operations and 3-5 years in Corporate Management.
  5. Technical skills, including formal and informal recognition as an aggregate and mining expert, and deep understanding of geology, mining, crushing, classifying, washing, loading, and transport.
  6. Strategic and analytical thinking, ability to define and solve multi-variable problems, and structured analytical skills.
  7. Personal skills, including being highly motivated, proactive, self-driven, having outstanding communication skills, and being a leader, team player, advisor, charismatic, and ethical.
