The Opportunity
We are looking for a customer-focused professional with excellent communication and technical skills to provide top-notch support to our customers. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their machinery is running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and train customers on Makino machinery, providing technical knowledge and troubleshooting expertise
- Act as a liaison between customers and Makino, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of issues
- Develop and maintain procedural documentation to ensure consistency and quality
- Utilize the Customer Support computer system to track and manage customer interactions
- Support the Product Specialist team on a rotational basis, providing subject matter expertise
- Collaborate with the Knowledge Products Team to develop and maintain technical knowledge
Requirements
- Excellent communication and customer relation skills
- Professional image and presentation
- Project leadership ability and technical knowledge
- Electro-mechanical skills, including motors, drives, and transformers
- Knowledge of machine tool manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair
- Technical knowledge and logical troubleshooting skills
- Rational decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy
- Availability for extensive weekly travel
Education and Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a co-op, internship, or full/part-time role
- Knowledge of machine tool manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair, equivalent to a complete, accredited apprenticeship training
- 2-year technical degree in Electrical/Automation and 1 year of experience in a related field
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
- US Passport and ability to travel nationally and internationally
- Valid Driver's License
