About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Human Resources and Operations Specialist to join our team at American Institutes For Research. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic organization that is committed to improving the quality of life for individuals and communities in low and middle-income countries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of high-quality recruitment processes, ensuring timely and effective staffing of projects and business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies, assessments, and closing approaches.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including employees, staff managers, and external partners.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and compliance of functional best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition for new hires.
  • Lead the performance evaluation process, reviewing and ensuring proper documentation, and supporting staff and staff managers throughout the process.
  • Contribute to a culture of inclusion, support, diversity, and innovation.
  • Manage the termination process, in collaboration with our legal counsel, including drafting termination letters and confirming all necessary paperwork.
  • Support the administration and compliance of health insurance, retirement, and other benefits programs.
  • Maintain accurate records, including staff databases, new positions and terminations lists, and Paid Time Off (PTO) and sick leave forms.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in psychology, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a similar field.
  • At least 5-9 years of experience in human resources administration, operations, and recruitment.
  • Experience working with labor law and recruitment best practices.
  • Experience in a similar role within the international development sector, preferably in the public and private sectors.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
