Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) specialist to join our team at Bosch Group. As a PLC specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex PLC systems that support our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement PLC programs for various manufacturing equipment, including Bosch Rexroth embedded Controllers and industrial PCs.
- Develop and maintain complex testing devices for pressure control, sensors, motors, motion systems, robotics, and process control.
- Support the specification, validation, and release of new production equipment Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and standard programming according to Central directives defined by CoC on PLC side.
- Perform PLC software programming and commissioning for new Manufacturing Assembly Equipment (MAE).
- Ensure high availability for PLC systems and analyze MES, mechanics, or electronics issues related to PLC systems to identify root cause and provide accurate solutions.
- Ensure manufacturing process compliance with engineering principles (PLC central directives), customer requirements, Bosch standards, and process specifications.
- Document PLC system changes and provide technical support for new MAE releases from external suppliers.
- Train and instruct junior colleagues in regards PLC systems and participate in the creation/update of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for new projects and process changes related to PLC systems.
- Help troubleshoot manufacturing equipment PLC data to/from MES and general peripheral issues and share troubleshooting and/or implementation lessons learned with Business Division.
- Ensure all PLC backups are saved and documented (Process audits for backups).
Additional Responsibilities
- Implement new products and processes by defining, acquiring, transferring, accepting, validating, releasing, and installing production processes and equipment according to Bosch standards.
- Fulfill Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) planning, including EWAK runs, Pre-PV's PV, and SOP.
- Participate actively with Project Planning (PJM) on projects and new releases and participate with Lead Plant/Development on manufacturing process definition, product handling, cycle time, hardware design, etc.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience in PLC programming and administration.
- Proficient in communication and team relationship skills.
- Strong analytical skills, troubleshooting, and/or problem-solving techniques.
- High knowledge in traceability systems and diverse PLC systems administration.
- High knowledge of PLC programming with SFC/ST/ladder language and related machine design standards, e.g., safety design principles.
- Availability to travel and no legal restrictions to obtain a Mexican Passport & Visa.
- Experience in the automotive industry standards or the electronic manufacturing industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Automation Engineering or Computer Science.
