About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Shopify Developer to join our team. As a key member of our commerce team, you will be responsible for translating client requirements into technical development, designing schemas, and integrating with content management solutions and search engines to unlock the business value of new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a great digital consumer experience based on a foundation of Shopify.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on all website preparation and updates.
- Assist with requirements definition, specifications, vendor selections, design, development, and timelines for key initiatives.
- Ensure a smooth connection with marketing tools, platform APIs, and Shopify apps to optimize the shop for overall efficiency and functionality.
- Assist with code reviews and pull requests.
- Diagnose and solve technical problems related to commerce implementation.
- Define best practices to implement non-functional requirements like performance and scalability of the e-commerce solution.
- Mentor and train junior/middle developers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of web development experience.
- Broad shop construction, launch, and maintenance expertise, as well as a general understanding of the admin system.
- Previous experience implementing/debugging third-party Shopify apps, as well as building unique solutions if needed. Working knowledge of third-party services and APIs, as well as Shopify plugins.
- In-depth knowledge and expertise with vanilla JavaScript, jQuery, ES2015/ES6, and current JavaScript frameworks.
- Working experience with Docker, Varnish, Redis, ElasticSearch or Solr.
- HTML 5, CSS 3 - would be considered as an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Shopify's object/properties, AJAX API, and Meta fields.
- Good English, both written and spoken.
- Any DEV-oriented certification is an advantage.
- Client-facing experience is a huge plus.
