We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Senior WordPress Developer** to join our team at MezTal, a fast-growing and award-winning marketing agency specializing in B2B and B2C senior living. Our portfolio of services includes **Brand and Website Development**, **SEO**, **Content Marketing**, **Paid and Social Digital Advertising**, and **Marketing Automation**.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Design and Development**: Create visually appealing and user-friendly website designs that align with our clients' brand standards, colors, and content needs.
  • **Theme and Plugin Development**: Develop custom themes and plugins to enhance website functionality and appearance, and modify and adapt existing themes/plugins as needed.
  • **Front-End Development**: Implement responsive and visually consistent designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure cross-device and cross-browser compatibility.
  • **Back-End Development**: Set up and configure WordPress installations, databases, and server environments, and integrate third-party APIs and services as required.
  • **Content Management**: Manage content updates, additions, and modifications on WordPress websites, ensuring content is presented effectively and follows best practices for SEO.
  • **Performance Optimization**: Refine website speed, mobile responsiveness, and site architecture, and integrate structured data, canonical URLs, and secure HTTPS to amplify crawling, indexing, and user experiences, bolstering technical SEO.
  • **Security and Maintenance**: Implement security measures to safeguard websites from vulnerabilities and potential threats, and perform monthly updates, backups, and maintenance tasks.

**Requirements:**

  • **Experience**: 5-8 years of proven experience in WordPress development, with a strong portfolio showcasing your projects.
  • **Design and Development Skills**: Proven experience designing websites for WordPress implementation using brand guidelines and copy direction, and expertise in design software like Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • **Graphic Design Background**: A graphic design background is helpful, including expertise in digital media and/or fine arts.
  • **WordPress Expertise**: Proven experience as a WordPress Developer or similar role managing multiple websites, and proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • **Knowledge of WordPress Architecture**: Strong knowledge of WordPress architecture, themes (Divi, Elementor), plugins, and APIs.
  • **Front-End Libraries and Frameworks**: Familiarity with front-end libraries/frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwinds, jQuery).
  • **Responsive Design and Mobile Optimization**: Experience with responsive design and mobile optimization.
  • **SEO Principles**: Understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
  • **Problem-Solving Skills**: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • **Communication and Collaboration**: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • **Version Control Systems**: Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is desirable.
  • **Language**: Advanced English Only.
  • **Location**: Located in Guadalajara Only.
