We are seeking an experienced developer to join our Observability team at Canonical. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing a cloud-native monitoring stack that composes best-in-class open-source monitoring tools.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop a scalable and resilient monitoring stack
- Collaborate with a globally distributed team to ensure seamless integration with existing systems
- Write high-quality code to create new features and debug issues
- Review code produced by other engineers and contribute to open-source codebases
- Represent Canonical at conferences and events
- Proven understanding of observability and monitoring for software systems
- Strong working knowledge of modern monitoring technologies like Prometheus, Alertmanager, Grafana, Loki, Mimir, etc.
- Skilled Python developer with a track record in open-source development
- Working knowledge of Go and experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools
- Interest and experience with Ubuntu Linux, container images, Debian packaging, snap, distributed systems
