About the Role

We are seeking a talented Data Analyst to join our team at Urban Science. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for working with a wide range of data sources to help us better understand our customers and improve our business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Urban Science client databases and extract and manipulate data using our proprietary software and commercial tooling
  • Process data on an ad hoc and ongoing basis
  • Profile and detect anomalies in data
  • Apply data analysis methods and tools to enhance data cleansing and readiness for use
  • Automate and create efficiencies in data processing
  • Ensure the quality of data on assigned projects
  • Generate data reports and deliverables
  • Provide tier 2 and general system support functions
  • Manage access control into data processing systems
  • Ensure data confidentiality and regulatory compliance

Requirements

  • Oral communication skills to effectively communicate with individuals and groups
  • Written communication skills to clearly convey ideas to various audiences
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple tasks
  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
  • Stakeholder relationship management
  • Ability to analyze problems and identify alternative solutions
  • College-level math skills and solid mathematical grounding
  • Statistical analysis and analytical thinking
  • Knowledge of relational database fundamentals
  • Ability to collect and analyze data results
  • Identification of patterns and trends in data sets
  • Data wrangling and cleansing
  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving for data incidents
  • Ability to select tools for data processing improvements

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited U.S. college or university
  • 3+ years related work experience required
  • 1+ years with scripting and/or compiled languages
  • GIS experience a plus: geoprocessing, spatial analysis, and mapping
