Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Ametek, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring electronic components, metals, and fabricated parts to support the manufacturing of programmable power supplies in a high-mix environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex purchasing activities, including pricing, volume discounts, and negotiating terms and long-term contracts with suppliers.
- Drive efforts to lower inventory and reduce material costs.
- Negotiate best terms with suppliers, while maintaining efficient output of purchase orders to reach highest quality at best value.
- Challenge and influence non-conforming and/or underperforming suppliers.
- Direct the disposition of any and all issues impeding the flow of materials required to meet business demands.
- Determine optimal supply chain strategy at a tactical level for all parts.
- Establish optimal supply chain arrangement for each and every component requirement.
- Implement supply chain strategy through Warehousing and Planning at the part number level of detail.
- Respond to daily shortage report.
- Purchase order administration and follow-up.
- Process supplier returns and replacements.
- Assist Accounts Payable in resolving related issues.
- Complete tasks and special projects as assigned.
