About the Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Operations Specialist to collaborate with commercial teams and senior leaders across Latin America in preparing and analyzing monthly financial performance, periodic forecasts, and annual budgets. This role will be a key resource supporting the Senior Manager, Latin America FP&A in providing analytics and insights on business performance in the region.
The ideal candidate will conduct reporting and forecasting, working capital and balance sheet analysis, and provide actionable insights to local management teams and regional finance leaders.
This full-time position will be based out of Mexico City and involve a hybrid work arrangement.

About You:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in financial analysis, preferably at a regional level.
  • Excellent bilingual (English & Spanish) writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Access, Word).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets; strong system aptitude required.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, experience in a matrix environment desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, cash management, and financial analysis processes.
  • Ability to work with senior management and local business leaders in developing operating plans and maintaining regular financial reports.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze profit and loss performance against budget, forecast, and prior year, and prepare all required reporting, including variance analysis and gross margin analytics.
  • Monitor and report on functional operating expenses and identify key drivers of variances.
  • Prepare profit and loss forecasts on a quarterly basis and other periodic forecast updates as required.
  • Complete all related reporting requirements and commentary.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to develop customer and product sales forecasts and plans, including analyzing the impact of volume, mix, and pricing impacts.
  • Prepare key performance indicator scorecards on a monthly basis, providing insights into performance trends.
  • Assist functional managers in the development of department budgets and forecasts and provide oversight and reporting of monthly results and variances.
  • Report on key working capital metrics, identifying key drivers and recommending action plans to improve performance.
  • Support the US-based customer service function with all financial requirements, including monthly reporting, forecasting, and annual budget development.

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time position based out of Mexico City, with a hybrid work arrangement.
  • Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
  • A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on a routine basis.
  • May intermittently travel domestically, with international travel unlikely.
  • A certain flexibility of working hours is expected.
  • Minimal physical effort is required, with most work being sedentary but requiring occasional walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects weighing less than 10 lbs.
