- Product and Sustaining Engineering: Assist with product and sustaining engineering related tasks, and may lead electrical engineering projects with limited resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
- Value Engineering: Support value engineering initiatives within the function, including component selection, process efficiency, and design changes.
- Technical Lifecycle Management: Assist with technical lifecycle management through defect reduction team participation and new component qualification.
- Cost Avoidance and Reduction: Support cost avoidance projects and sustain cost reduction activities.
- Design Lab Experiments: Perform design lab experiments, analyze data, and make decisions within limited parameters under regular supervision.
- Product Documentation: Analyze and release product documentation.
- Design for Manufacturing, Test, and Reliability: Participate in design for manufacturing, test, and reliability (DFM, DFT, DFR) reviews to reduce assembly and test time and increase overall product quality.
- Communication: Communicate basic and moderately complex concepts, interact with others to inform and provide suggestions for action.
- Cisco Business Objectives: Apply basic understanding of Cisco's business objectives and develop understanding of Cisco's products, services, and customers.
- Business Problem-Solving: Contribute to solution of straightforward business problems regarding operations, products, services, or customers.
- Root Cause Analysis: Analyze information, ask questions, and check for understanding using standard procedures within the job family to support root cause analysis for yield and quality-related issues.
- Job Responsibilities: Requires some experience in electrical engineering while working to acquire higher-level knowledge and skills.
- Technology and Tools: Comfortable with technology, tools, and processes that support work conducted by the job family, such as DFx, schematic, CAD, and CAE.
- Team Impact: Impacts own team and other teams whose work activities are closely related.
- Process Improvement: May suggest improvements to existing processes and solutions to improve the efficiency of the team.
- Problem-Solving: Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions or to recommend alternative resolutions.

- Education and Experience: Bachelors in electrical engineering or related discipline, plus 5-10 years of related experience, or Masters in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- Language: Fluency in English and local language.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to various time zones is important.
