Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Operations Management professional to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, providing coaching, mentorship, and work direction. They will conduct regular performance appraisals and career discussions with staff, facilitating employee career development and interviewing, recruiting, and selecting staff.

The Clinical Operations Management Director will also manage and conduct induction/orientation programs for new employees, ensuring their smooth assimilation into the company. They will ensure all staff CVs, training records, position profiles, and experience profiles are complete and up-to-date, as well as ensure timeliness and accuracy of timesheets and expense reports.

Additionally, the Clinical Operations Management Director will support allocation activities per the local resourcing process, support project leads/functional leads to optimize the operational running of projects, and escalate any issues that may impact project deliverables.

They will also deliver training on Working Practice Documents (WPDs) and Standard Operating procedures, identify training gaps, and ensure that training requirements are met. The Clinical Operations Management Director may contribute to the development of training programs, where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and review systems to evaluate employee and project metrics, KPIs, and general project status.
  • Evaluate work of staff, including conducting PAVs (either remote or on-site) to thoroughly evaluate employee monitoring skills and project conduction when applicable.
  • Participate in process improvement/development initiatives.
  • Ensure understanding and facilitation of the risk-based monitoring approach.
  • Provide input into bids and contribute to the procurement of new business where required.
  • Assist senior management in budgeting activity of assigned group(s) and support annual and long-range forecasting.
