Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Lead to join our team at Kohler. As a leader of our laboratory, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products through gage calibration processes, including CMM measures, calipers, salt chambers, and x-ray.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the assurance of quality through gage calibration processes
- Analyze data after inspection and communicate results
- Provide troubleshooting for measurement-related issues
- Perform laboratory tests to ensure product specifications
- Establish and implement consistent documentation
- Solve problems related to improper measurement techniques
- Schedule and coordinate calibration services and repairs with outside vendors
- Perform maintenance on gages and electronic components
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Participate in FMEAs, Control Plan development, Gage R&Rs, and other milestone events
- Perform finish good audits and first inspection audits
- Communicate quality issues to counterparts
- Ensure contaminants and non-conforming material identification
- Develop new programs for CMM and absolute arm programming
Requirements
- Solid understanding of measurement techniques, quality systems, GD&T, drawing interpretation, and manufacturing processes
- Strong organization, planning, and communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and good computer skills
- Technical education degree required; 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Internal audit certification strongly preferred
- GD&T, PolyWorks, and measurement systems knowledge preferred
