About the Role

The Trades - Mechanic provides maintenance and reliability support for the mobile fleet equipment and plant to deliver sustainable revenue and effective cost management for the site. Key responsibilities include:

  • Schedule servicing, repairs, alterations, and breakdown maintenance
  • Ensuring the maintenance of MMUs and fixed plant conform to SAP PM
  • Know and adhere to relevant procedures, statutory requirements, and codes
  • Continually reassess risks associated with regional operation and maintenance processes taking appropriate corrective action as required
  • Provide Product Pump rebuild
  • Mentoring of staff and local service contractors in the support of Orica's Operations
  • Provide onsite and phone-based technical support
  • Assist Asset Lead, Maintenance Supervisor, and Territory Managers as required
  • Provide feedback to Asset Lead on common mode failures and communicate appropriate actions
  • Compilation of Alerts and bulletins for continuous improvement and corrective action tasks

What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Up to 2 years of similar experience
  • Trade Certificate - Certificate III, Automotive Mechanical (Heavy Road Transport)
  • Practical understanding of plant used in the transfer and handling of various products (e.g., Skid Steer Loaders and Mobile Augers)
  • A practical understanding of mechanical equipment
  • Strong understanding of engineering process
  • Good practical understanding of, and experience with, control theory and systems (including electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics)
  • Permit to Work Qualified
  • Able to obtain Security Clearance
