Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Specialist to join our team at The LEGO Group. As a Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire VAT refund process, ensuring timely and accurate refunds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the VAT refund process, ensuring compliance with Mexican VAT laws and regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports for internal and external partners, highlighting trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with process and data specialists to facilitate the improvement of our data gathering to speed up our VAT refunds.
  • Assist in VAT audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to tax authorities.
  • Analyze VAT data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Liaise with internal departments, external consultants, and tax authorities to resolve VAT-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper documentation practices are followed and supporting files are "audit ready."
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on VAT refund processes and compliance to take advantage of lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA.
  • Accounting / Tax Certifications.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in VAT refund processing, with a strong understanding of Mexican VAT laws.
  • Proven track record in handling high volumes of VAT refunds.
  • Use tax expertise to recommend improvements to our current processes via equipped end-to-end thinking and lean concepts.
  • Ability to document processes in flow charts and narratives.
  • Independently drive the successful completion of VAT refund objectives and identify operational improvements, showcasing your determined nature.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to compliance and accuracy.
  • Previous experience with SAP, Blackline, Power BI.
  • Fully Bilingual.
