At FreshBooks, we're building a cloud-native infrastructure that empowers our feature development teams to create high-quality services for customers. As a Cloud-Native Infrastructure Specialist, you'll join our growing organization and be part of driving innovation and change.

We're looking for talented and experienced engineers to help us build and support our cloud-native infrastructure. You'll work with a team of technologists with diverse specializations and skills, providing secure, flexible, and stable platform solutions that empower our feature development teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, deploying, and operating cloud-native infrastructure in support of FreshBooks' SaaS platform
  • Bringing a mindset of standards and best practices to create observability solutions that the team wants to adopt
  • Participating in an on-call rotation
  • Driving a culture of automation within the team and throughout the organization to scale FreshBooks efficiently and reliably
  • Participating in technical discussions to aid system design, analysis, and troubleshooting

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Expert English proficiency (written, spoken, heard)
  • 2+ years of experience with implementation, operations, and maintenance of cloud services
  • An understanding of the importance of a strong feedback loop with other teams and individuals across the organization
  • Exposure to cloud-native approaches to security concerns
  • Hands-on experience with containers or container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker
  • Experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
  • Some experience working with one or more monitoring and observability tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Have assisted in identifying the root causes of production incidents, and worked with incident teams to restore service(s)
