Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operations Handler to join our team at FedEx. As an Operations Handler, you will be responsible for handling packages within our operations, including manual handling, sort activities, and completing related administration or paperwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient and safe delivery and pickup of packages.
  • Check packages to ensure proper labeling, legality of content, and special requirements for hazardous material shipments.
  • Provide necessary paperwork relating to the pickup and delivery of packages, such as airway bills and delivery records.
  • Seek additional business from current customers and pass leads to Sales Managers.
  • Inform Station Ops. Managers and Sales of changes in customer/competitor efforts.
  • Load and unload company aircraft and vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Audit size and weight of packages and boxes and sort.
  • Ensure the use of safety equipment and full compliance with FedEx safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and secure manner and perform basic maintenance.
Requirements
  • Middle School degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Drivers License and good driving record.
  • Basic English Skills.
  • Experience operating ramp and warehouse equipment preferred.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and to maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts.
  • General vehicle maintenance a plus and power and hand tools experience preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully complete Reading, Map Reading, Sorting, and Math sections of the Basic Skills Test.
