Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operator to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and resolve guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of tools and equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and machines to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment and buildings.
  • Manage maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication programs.
  • Display proficiency in one or more of the following areas: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties.
  • Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and light bulb and A/C filter replacement.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
  • Display working knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems.
  • Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel MEP systems.
  • Train and mentor other engineers and perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and vocational or technical background.
  • At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
  • Meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
