How will you make an impact in this role?

The American Express Supplier Risk team is looking for a highly motivated, business and customer focused individual with proven service delivery and relationship management experience. The Supplier Risk Assessment Analyst is responsible for assessing the third-party supplier relationships. The position will report to the Senior Manager – Supplier Risk and scope is Global.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Pre-contract – execution of third party risk assessments and required due diligence activities through partnership and liaison with procurement specialists and Business Unit stakeholder groups
  • Post-contract – execution of ongoing oversight validation to include refreshed ratings, due diligence, and trend analysis across Business Units and legal entities
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to Third Party Relationship Managers and other Business Unit stakeholders on the TLM program from both a pre- and post-contract perspective The successful candidate will need to manage the tools, processes, and stakeholders involved with the program.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support Procurement teams with enhancing the overall sourcing service to our customers by timely and professional response to requests for third party pre and post contract support
- Collect documents from third party suppliers via the Category Management and Business Unit teams or source online/from suppliers if need be
- Conduct high quality reviews on due diligence evidence submitted by Business Units/Staff Groups
- Maintain data repository and create and deliver status reports
- Assist the Senior Manager with the escalation of high risk issues/gaps, and areas requiring the use of judgment to subject matter experts and leaders within the Third Party Lifecycle Management Center of Expertise
- Manage the tools that support the Third Party Lifecycle Management program including risk assessment, due diligence, contract repository, and ongoing oversight of third parties.

Qualifications:
- Prior experience in one or more of the following areas: Risk, Compliance, Audit, Third Party Supplier Management
- Highly-motivated and pro-active business and customer focused individual that can work well in a high pressure environment, managing multiple priorities against tight deadlines
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to respond to complex questions about TLM program requirements, ratings, trends and due diligence requirements.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment that spans all regions/countries
- Self-starter with exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to investigate, research and identify the appropriate contacts to source documents and Due  Diligence information
- Outstanding project management skills
- Highly organized, able to multi-task and manage a set of third party engagements and relationships across the business
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify trends
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy of essential records and documentation
- Outstanding technical skills including expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
