About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Operations product owner to lead our cloud infrastructure and operations team focused on Azure cloud services. This role will be responsible for managing and operating our cloud infrastructure, with particular emphasis on Hub-and-Spoke network architecture, DevOps automation, and ensuring compliance with organizational and security policies. The successful candidate will lead a team that manages both shared infrastructure components (Hub) and application-specific workloads (Spokes) while maintaining high standards of operational excellence. The Lead Azure Cloud Operations will report to the Azure team Product Manager, to ensure continuous alignment with the global program roadmap. This role is ideal for a technical leader who combines deep Azure expertise with strong team management skills and a passion for operational excellence in cloud infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  • Service Management: Strong understanding of ITIL and ITSM concepts
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and application owners

Technical Skills

  • Cloud Expertise: 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
  • Networking: Basic understanding of Azure networking concepts including VNET, VWAN, peering, and hub-spoke architectures
  • DevOps Tools: Proficiency with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Additional Requirements

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Documentation: Experience creating and maintaining service documentation and operational runbooks
  • Compliance: Knowledge of cloud governance, security policies, and compliance frameworks
  • Location: Candidates must be able to work standard business hours in North American time zone (UTC−8 to UTC−5)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure certifications
  • ITIL and/or SAFe certifications
  • Experience with Azure Policy, Azure Firewall, and Application Gateway
  • Background in network security and DevSecOps best practices
